Handiwork Games

New Indie RPGs Incoming from Handiwork Games

Handiwork Games are a UK publisher known for beautifully made, thoughtfully designed roleplaying games that lean hard into theme, atmosphere, and play experience. Their titles don’t chase trends — they do their own thing, and do it well.

We’re in the process of bringing a small selection of their games to Australia, and because these aren’t widely available locally, we’re gauging interest before the first shipment lands.

If any of the games below catch your eye, let us know — it helps us get the numbers right.

If you’d like to be notified when one (or more) of these games arrive, or you want us to prioritise a particular title, register your interest below and let us know which ones you’re keen on.

No obligation — it just helps us make sure we’re bringing in the right books for the right people.

FiveEvil

FiveEvil is a dark, stripped-back reimagining of 5E that leans into corruption, ambition, and consequences. It’s fast, flavourful, and unapologetically grim — built for players who like their fantasy a little rough around the edges.

If you enjoy OSR-adjacent design, dangerous magic, and characters who don’t always come out clean on the other side, this one’s worth a look.

BEOWULF: Age of Heroes

BEOWULF: Age of Heroes is a beautifully produced duet roleplaying game for one player and one Gamemaster, inspired by epic poetry, heroic deeds, and Anglo-Saxon myth.

It’s ideal for focused, character-driven play, with tools designed specifically for running rich, satisfying one-on-one adventures — no compromises, no awkward scaling.

a|state (Second Edition)

a|state is a gritty, hope-against-the-odds science fiction RPG about communities, resistance, and life at the sharp edge of a broken city.

Powered by narrative-forward mechanics and strong thematic play, it’s a game for players who like their stories personal, political, and grounded — where survival and solidarity matter as much as victory.
